New carpets for the two dock benches. After much sun and some rain showers, the old carpets was due for replacing. On December 13, 2008, I finished removing the old carpeting, nails, and accumulated sand and cut and installed two new pieces of carpeting. It’s the same Home Depot style Charley Smith and I used back on December 16, 2006.

Some observations I made for maintaining the dock in the coming year are:

  • Replace the broken top caps for the bumpers.
  • Purchase a soft squeegee for removing the winter condensation that forms on the dock.
  • Scrape the sides and bottom of each dock float and the ladder.
  • Lift the dock under the long bench. Possibly inserting one or two more floats under the dock.

The dock section under the bench is becoming lower each year do to the weight of the bench, bulletin board, and plaque display case.

How would we submerge two floats and push them under the dock? I don’t know. Is it possible?
